Privacy
Updated October 15, 2026
Talkacross does not collect, store or share your data. There is no account and no sign-in, and nothing you say leaves your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
Listening, transcription, working out who is speaking and translation all run on the device, using Apple’s on-device speech and translation. Audio is never recorded or uploaded. Conversations stay on your iPhone until you delete them.
Language downloads
The first time you use a language, iOS may download that language’s speech and translation models from Apple. That download is handled by iOS, not by Talkacross.
Two iPhones
If you connect to a nearby iPhone so each person can use their own, the two phones talk to each other directly over your local network. Nothing passes through a server.
Permissions
Talkacross asks for the microphone and speech recognition so it can hear the conversation, and for the local network only when you connect two iPhones.
